Waterfall Abseiling

Rope down the face of a rainforest waterfall in the Makandawa Reserve, harnessed and guide-belayed — a genuine adrenaline hit with zero climbing experience needed.

Overview

You'll harness up at the top of one of the Makandawa Reserve's waterfalls and descend the rock face under the falling water, belayed from below by your guide the whole way — this is a proper abseil (rappel), not a jump or slide. First-timers go one at a time with full verbal coaching on foot placement and rope hand position; it typically takes 10–15 minutes of instruction before your first descent.
