Adventure LK runs white water rafting, canyoning, waterfall abseiling, and rainforest activities out of Kithulgala, on the Sabaragamuwa stretch of the Kelani River — the exact rapids that have drawn rafters here since Sri Lanka's commercial rafting scene took off in the early 1990s.
We're a Kithulgala-based operation through and through: our base sits on the Nuwara Eliya–Hatton Highway in Pitawala, a few minutes from the river and the Makandawa Forest Reserve trailheads.
Every guide on our roster works the river or rock face directly with guests — we don't run trips by remote instruction from the bank. When you step into a raft or clip into an abseil rope, you're guided by certified river masters who know every eddy, drop, and boulder by heart.

Direct Hands-On Guiding
Every guide on our roster works the river or rock face directly with guests. We don't run trips by remote instruction from the bank — our river masters are in the water with you.
Daily Gear Audits
Helmets, PFDs (Lifejackets), harnesses, and static ropes are thoroughly inspected each morning before the first group goes out, and retired on a fixed schedule rather than run until failure.
Water & Weather Integrity
If heavy rain raises the Kelani River water levels beyond safe operating thresholds, we delay or reschedule trips rather than send a raft out to keep to a strict timetable.

The Birth of Sri Lankan Rafting
Commercial white water rafting takes root on the Kelani River in Kithulgala. Our founding team begins guiding Sri Lanka's very first rafting expeditions.
Canyoning & Waterfall Abseiling
Expanding beyond the main river channel to introduce technical canyoning, natural water slides, and waterfall abseiling in the rainforest gorges.
Eco-Adventure Base in Pitawala
